How to use the PLATO School Website media library

How to log in to your PLATO School Website CMS.

Step 1.

On any page of your website scroll down to the footer of the page and click “ADMIN LOGIN”

Step 2.

When the login screen appears enter your username (can be your email address) and password. If you do not have these yet you can request them from your project manager at Blue Apple Education – [email protected].

Step 1.

On your dashboard click on Media

Step 2.

Click on Add New to get the prompt to drop files directly from your computer or click Select Files to use the file browser.

!!VERY IMPORTANT!! Images uploaded should be resized to a maximum of 2560px (height and/or width) and run through an optimisation tool, recommended tinypng.com. Big files will hurt your website performance.

Step 3.

Files can be ordered into folders and subfolders, click New Folder to add a new folder and rename it.

Step 4.

Click Bulk select to select multiple files to move them into folders or delete it.

!!IMPORTANT!! files deleted from the media library are not recoverable.

Step 5.

Click All Files to view all the files uploaded to your media library.

Click Uncategorized to view the files that haven’t been organised into folders or select any folder to view the files put into that folder.

Step 6.

Files can be filtered by type (video,images, etc…)

Step 7.

Clicking on a single image will bring a prompt with furter options, such as Alternative text, Title, Caption and Description.

Further down you will find more options such as: Upload a new file, what folder the file is listed in, and to Delete permanently.

Step 8.

Clicking Edit image will bring additional options, For example, you can:

  • Rotate the image, flip it, and crop it with a drag-and-drop tool
  • Scale the image by entering dimensions manually
  • Crop the image manually by entering exact dimensions or an aspect ratio
  • Decide whether to apply your changes to all image sizes or only some of them
